Still not done - getting frustrated!

We had a chance to proofread our updated home study over the weekend....man, they need things worded strangely! The social worker is still waiting on our fingerprint clearances to come back. We are still trying to get the infant/child CPR class taken. I thought we were all set at Anderson Hospital but they informed me that there classes are only for those giving birth at their hospital....do I smell infertile discrimination? Not pushing that envelope just yet!!!

It is getting a bit frustrating. I will take partial responsibility for not completing everything last fall. Things are not falling to place as quickly or as easily as the last time....could this mean a much longer wait than before?

It has been one of those days!!!

Abby's

Today we finally heard back from Abby's One True Gift. I was getting a bit worried because we had sent a few emails plus out portfolio to them but had not heard back. I am relieved to know that they have everything and are just waiting on the home study.

We were discussing today what we were going to do if all of a sudden we got a phone call in April saying, "Come pick up your child." Mentally, emotionally, I thing we are ready. However, financially and house-wise we still have a way to go. Elliott's room need to be cleaned out, Bailey's things moved in there and Bailey's room set up for a child. Oh well.....when it happens, we will be ready. Bailey we had less than 48 hours notice!!!

Finishing Our Home Study

Well, we have almost everything finished with our end of the home study. We have to take a infant/child CPR class. I thought we had this scheduled but there were a few problems and we were not able to meet up with the instructor. It looks like now we will have to go through Anderson Hospital. This is not a problem, however, it just means it will take a bit longer before our part is done.

Last week, we mailed off our picture portfolios/profiles with the cd-roms to LCFS, the attorney, and Abby's. It is kind of frustrating - we have sent 2 emails to Abby's and have not heard back from them. They are usually very good about replying. I guess, phone calls will need to be made tomorrow.

I wonder what the chances of the home study beeing finished by the end of the month? We really can't start waiting until we have the foster licence in hand.
