It has been a week since we got a call from Abby's about a birth mother located in another state. It was almost too good to be true! We learned about the birth parents and the due date of 5/12/2009!!!! After talking about it, we decided to have the coordinator present us to the birth mother while we tried to come up with the financing. Unfortunately we were not able to gather all the money with out using our vehicle titles for collateral. We had to make a very important decision - the time was not right for us to consider opening our home to this baby. On a plus side, the coordinator had not been able to contact the birth mother yet!
There were 2 days filled with stress and anxiety - I was a mess at work! But as soon as we made the choice to back out, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. However, there was also a HUGE sense of loss.
As we work through this, I will try to keep an on going record.
